Otorohanga Medical Centre

The development of this new medical hub is a focal point for the local community. The construction was a new single story Medical Centre including consulting rooms, X-Ray room, pharmacy, pathlab, ultrasound room and a clinic. The Centre includes 43 carparks and landscaped grounds. Specialised equipment has necessitated unique services including robotics for the pharmacy. The spacious rooms focus on harnessing natural light and incorporate many cultural features including work from local artists.

Surrounding the building are 22 architectural precast panels up to 5,300mm high. These panels form the exterior walls and have an anti-graffiti coating applied up to 3m. The panels act as an architectural feature and focal point upon arrival. They are lined on the inside with insulation, timber strapping and plasterboard linings.

The building stands as a distinctive landmark in the town.
