CHT Bernadette

Livingstone Building was engaged to complete the redevelopment and extension of the existing CHT Bernadette Hospital and Rest Home facility from 90 to 113 beds.

Undertaken in two separable portions, Stage 1 included the partial demolition of the western end of the building along with the laundry building. A new single storey building was constructed containing 17 care suites including individual ensuites, two lounges, commercial kitchen, staff room, sluice room and 11 storage spaces/offices.

Stage 2, the refurbishment of the hospital wing, contained 23 care suites with individual ensuites, two lounges, treatment room, new reception and print room and eight storage spaces/offices. The refurbishment included a full upgrade to the fire system including new fire walls to the roof structure. The care suites were upgraded to the new design including joinery, carpet fixtures and fittings.
