Apprenticeships

Livingstone have an in depth apprenticeship training program, we believe strongly in being an active part of Construction Industry training. Livingstone work closely with the Building and Construction Industry Training Organization (BCITO) to monitor the required future skill needs of the building and construction industry, and make regular contact to enable us to understand how well the training system is meeting those needs.

Livingstone is highly committed to apprenticeship training and believe that what we put in, we get back ten fold. We install old and new values and expectations into our trainees based on behavior, standards, ethics and respect. Livingstone currently are training a team of 15 apprentices. We have one Apprentice Manager and three assessors who work with the B.C.I.T.O to monitor theory assignments, onsite training, health and safety issues, quality control, productivity and most importantly commitment. Regular appraisal meetings quickly identify potential problem areas and are promptly corrected, providing a balance of academic - practical knowledge and experience relevant to the needs of the individual - the industry and the consumer.

Students successfully completing this programme will be credited with the BCITO National Certificate in Carpentry. High achievers of this program are also identified and are guided into Livingstone's Junior Foreman Program which is also part of the Livingstone training scheme. With a shortage of trades people within the building industry, Livingstone are committed to providing high quality tradesmen to all our clients and future customers.
